Hotel Holiday decor 2020

Keeping with the spirit of the holidays, The Langham, Chicago partners with Flourish Cake Design and have three yuletide pieces displayed in the hotel lobby. All cakes are edible and displayed in showcases through the Holiday season for guests viewing pleasure. The unique cakes are made with three distinct and specific themes that evoke the festive spirit.


The Langham Christmas Tree – is a towering gingerbread Christmas tree with sparkly edible ornaments in mixed metals and royal icing cookie that utilizes the ‘Langham Pink Taxi’ as ornaments. The color of the pink taxi ornament was specifically matched with the ‘Langham pink’ color shade of the hotel chain.

Snowy Gingerbread Chicago
Renowned Chicago architecture and skyline that includes Marina Towers, Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, Willis Tower, John Hancock, and The Langham, Chicago, a Mies van der Rohe skyscraper and the iconic Bean aka Cloud Gate are recreated utilizing gingerbread, royal icing and fondant.

A Christmas Wedding
Inspired by an icy winter snowscape with seasonal flowers—amaryllis, boxwood, hydrangeas, ranunculus, winterberries—made of sugar this cake is an ode to the ultimate Langham Weddings. The “sails” and snow in the cake are made of royal icing and rice paper. The flower used in the cake can be preserved in a forever box as a memory or keepsake for years on end!
